In a strategic move to enhance food security and stabilize its economy, the Armenian government has enacted a six-month ban on the export of certain agricultural products to countries that do not belong to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Meeting on Thursday, the government detailed its decision to restrict the export of essential goods, including wheat, millet, barley, corn, buckwheat, sunflower seeds, and sunflower oil. This temporary measure is designed to ensure that domestic production meets internal demand. Despite Armenia's agricultural capabilities, the internal production of these goods is currently insufficient to satisfy domestic needs, which are largely sustained by imports.
