Armenia's foreign and mutual trade turnover for January-October 2025, compared with the same period in 2024, fell by 37.1% and amounted to $16,542,183.9 thousand, according to the National Statistical Committee of the Republic. Moreover, in October 2025, this indicator stood at $1,938.0 million, down by 16% compared with October 2024, and up by 17.8% compared with September 2025. Note that Armenia's foreign trade turnover began to slow from July last year, and since January this year a decline has been recorded: January 2025 was down 40% year-on-year vs January 2024; in the first quarter down 54.2%; in the first half down 45%; and for the first three quarters down 39.3%. Foreign trade turnover Foreign trade turnover with CIS countries for ten months of the current year amounted to $6,156,922.0 thousand, down 45.7% compared with January-October of last year, including with the EAEU - $5,999,289.2 thousand (down 46.5%). The largest foreign trade partners of Armenia are Russia (turnover for the 10 months of this year — $5,721,128.7 thousand, down 47.8% vs the 10 months of last year), Belarus ($201,442.9 thousand, up 16.4%), and Ukraine ($86,622.5 thousand, up 20.9%). The volume of Armenia's foreign trade turnover with EU countries for the reporting period amounted to $2,012,720.9 thousand, up 4.8%. The five largest trading partners among European countries are Germany ($386,472.7 thousand, down 4.1%), Italy ($368,880.1 thousand, up 4.9%), France ($179,138.8 thousand, up 38.1%), the Netherlands ($170,735.5 thousand, up 16.1%), and Belgium ($159,022.2 thousand, up 7.7%). Among other countries in terms of trade volume with Armenia for January-October 2025 are China ($2,123,584.4 thousand, down 9.1%), UAE ($1,535,878.7 thousand, down 68.9%), Iran ($636,217.3 thousand, up 7.3%), the United States ($290,641.3 thousand, down 18.5%), Iraq ($277,359.5 thousand, up 46.4%), Georgia ($227,723.7 thousand, down 16.9%), Switzerland ($152,148.8 thousand, up 7.3%) and Japan ($121,450.0 thousand, up 10.8%). According to statistical data, Armenia's exports for January-October 2025 decreased by 44.7% compared with January-October 2024, amounting to $6,416,386.9 thousand. In October 2025 this indicator stood at $744.4 million, down 21.8% compared with October 2024, and up 12% compared with September 2025. Exports to CIS countries for the reporting period 2025 totaled $2,627,115.1 thousand, down 7.1% compared with the corresponding period last year, including to the EAEU - $2,574,079.0 thousand (down 7.7%). The top three export leaders are Russia ($2,385,326.8 thousand, down 9.2%), Belarus ($136,187.3 thousand, up 44.8%), and Kazakhstan ($45,134.7 thousand, down 20.2%). Exports to EU member states for the 10 months of 2025 grew by 5.3% compared with the 10 months of 2024, totaling $526,663.5 thousand. The top three export countries are Belgium ($115,989.8 thousand, up 16.8%), the Netherlands ($115,064.8 thousand, up 15.6%), and Germany ($93,012.8 thousand, up 80.6%). Other countries with the largest exports from Armenia include UAE ($1,470,099.1 thousand, down 69.8%), China ($570,867.2 thousand, down 42.2%), Iraq ($275,667.8 thousand, up 45.9%), Switzerland ($120,388.1 thousand, up 28%), Georgia ($110,302.7 thousand, down 21.8%), Iran ($77,462.6 thousand, down 14%), and the United States ($41,682.8 thousand, down 17.1%). According to statistics, the most significant export items in the reporting period were: "precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and articles made of them" – $1,959,662.7 thousand (down 73.5% versus January-October 2024), "machinery, equipment and mechanisms" - $1,090,476.7 thousand (down 0.8%), "finished food products" - $983,661.8 thousand (up 25.3%), "mining and quarrying industry" - $959,570.0 thousand (up 11.1%), "textiles and textile products" - $273,350.7 thousand (down 11.4%), "plant-origin products" - $261,916.6 thousand (up 27.5%), "non-precious metals and articles made of them" - $245,795.8 thousand (down 13.6%) and "devices and apparatus" - $180,381.4 thousand (up 49.7%). According to statistics, Armenia's imports for January-October 2025 amounted to $10,125,797.0 thousand, down 31.2% compared with January-October 2024. In October 2025 this indicator stood at $1,193.6 million, down 11.9% compared with October 2024, and up 21.8% compared with September 2025. Imports from CIS for the reporting period totaled $3,705,652.7 thousand by exporting countries (down 57.4%) and $3,529,806.9 thousand by producing countries (down 58.5%). Imports from the EAEU by exporting countries amounted to $3,592,751.7 thousand (down 58.3%), and by producing countries - $3,425,210.2 thousand (down 59.3%). The top three CIS supplier countries by exports are Russia ($3,477,566.4 thousand, down 59%), Ukraine ($85,317.0 thousand, up 28%), and Belarus ($70,621.5 thousand, down 19.2%). By producing countries the leaders are the same with the following figures: Russia - $3,335,801.9 thousand (down 59.9%), Ukraine - $77,259.1 thousand (up 21.6%), and Belarus - $65,255.6 thousand (down 17.5%). Imports from the EU by supplier countries for the 10 months of the current year grew by 5.8% compared with the 10 months of last year, totaling $1,744,343.4 thousand, and by producing countries the growth was 4.7% to $1,486,057.4 thousand. The top three exporting countries are Germany ($327,914.5 thousand, down 11.4%), Italy ($322,061.6 thousand, up 13.7%), and the Netherlands ($157,386.1 thousand, up 2.2%). By producing countries the leaders are Italy ($315,379.3 thousand, up 6.5%), Germany ($293,459.9 thousand, down 16.5%), and France ($173,734.7 thousand, up 41.4%). Among other states, whose imports are among the largest among supplier countries, are China ($1,099,874.1 thousand, up 20.9%), Georgia ($609,683.1 thousand, down 5.8%), Iran ($562,684.4 thousand, up 9.6%), UAE ($334,338.6 thousand, down 10%), and the United States ($289,093.8 thousand, up 2.8%). By producing countries in the top five are China ($1,552,717.2 thousand, up 15.3%), Iran ($558,754.7 thousand, up 11.1%), the United States ($248,958.5 thousand, down 18.7%), Georgia ($117,421.0 thousand, down 11.7%), and Japan ($103,292.8 thousand, up 6.9%). At the same time, according to official statistics, for January-October 2025 the dominant imports by product groups were: "machinery, equipment and mechanisms" - $2,139,979.0 thousand (down 1.8%), "precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and articles made of them" – $1,717,031.5 thousand (down 74.9%), "mining and quarrying industry" - $948,619.0 thousand (up 4%), "land, air and sea transport vehicles" - $867,949.6 thousand (up 13.7%), "finished food products" - $705,872.7 thousand (up 19.7%), "chemical products and related industries" - $577,068.7 thousand (up 8%), "textiles and textile products" - $545,039.3 thousand (down 3.6%), and "non-precious metals and articles made of them" - $529,469.0 thousand (up 5.2%).
