An 'Eye to Eye' documentary journalists' community has issued a statement, which we present below. The Civil Contract party, notorious for censorship, has again moved against young writers. The Writers' Union's youth literary newspaper, 'Grettertin', has been deprived of state financial support. We have no doubt that this funding cut, i.e., this censorship, was carried out because the 19-year-old paper's editor, writer Gurgen Khanjian, has supported the Armenian Apostolic Church, His Holiness Karekin II, and the detained innocent clergy. 'Grettertin' is Armenia's only literary-youth newspaper, which for years has served as a platform for young writers to present their works. Many from the 'Eye to Eye' community also began their growth at Grettertin and continued to publish their works in the paper. We call on writers, readers, and cultural figures to condemn this censorship, which has been carried out against literature and youth by depriving them of state support. We also call on businesspeople and concerned individuals who have the means to support Grettertin to help it continue its mission—providing a platform for young writers to establish themselves, and presenting readers with new literary works. The amount involved is 2,300,000 drams. It should also be noted that state support comes from citizens' taxes, including those of writers, not from Nikol Pashinyan, which is why it is called state support, not Nikol-like support.
