

YEREVAN, November 22. /ARKA/. A wide range of issues related to expanding Armenia's economic relations with Russia and increasing bilateral trade between the two countries was discussed by Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan with the Russian delegation led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin. During the meeting, held on November 21, the topic of cooperation in the agro-industrial sector, ensuring uninterrupted export of agricultural products, the creation of joint ventures and opportunities for exchange of experience in the field of phytosanitary matters was raised separately. Among the most promising directions, the interlocutors pointed to the need to deepen cooperation in tourism. The meeting also included Armenia's Deputy Ministers of Economy Arman Hodjoyan and Narek Ovakhimyan. According to Armstat, Russia remains Armenia's largest external trade partner (the volume of trade turnover for the first nine months of this year was $4,971,691,500, a decrease of 50.5% compared with the nine months of 2024).
