Yerevan, November 21 — /ARKA/. In the central part of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, a ceremonial event took place: a street was named after Mesrop Mashtots, the creator of the Armenian alphabet. According to Armenpress from Kazakhstan, the ceremony was attended by Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan. Last year, during the visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Armenia, it was noted that negotiations were underway to name a street in Astana after Mesrop Mashtots, and a park in Yerevan after the Kazakh poet and founder of Kazakh literature Abai Qunanbaiuly (Abai Kunanbaev), on the basis of reciprocity. In April this year, by decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, the park in the Avan administrative district was named after the founder of Kazakh literature Abai Qunanbaev.
