

YEREVAN, November 14. /ARKA/. In Armenia, laboratory examinations of consignments of wheat imported from Russia and Kazakhstan were conducted via a new route through Azerbaijan. The Food Safety Inspection Agency of the Republic of Armenia reports that, according to the Republican Center for Veterinary-Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services, based on the mass fraction of protein, gluten content, moisture, and organoleptic characteristics (color, odor), grain samples from Russia correspond to Class 2, while samples from Kazakhstan correspond to Class 3. About wheat supplies to Armenia On the evening of November 5, a train with Russian grain (15 cars) arrived at the Ayrum railway station, having passed through Azerbaijan and Georgia. This route has been used for the first time since the early 1990s. On November 7, a train carrying Kazakh wheat (about 1,000 tons) entered Armenia, having traveled through Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. The train carried about 1,000 tons of wheat. On October 21, the President of Azerbaijan stated that he had lifted all restrictions on transit of goods to Armenia through his territory.
