Pashinyan to Serzh Sargsyan 08-11-2025 10:46:17 | Armenia | What the media is writing Sputnik. The air defense system left by the former Armenian authorities was a meltdown, and the allies were ignoring requests to modernize them. This is what Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on social media in response to the statement of Armenia’s 3rd president Serzh Sargsyan. On November 7, during the “Imnemy” podcast, Armenia’s third president said that he did not understand how it was possible to lose half of the air defense assets in the very first hours of the war. “What is there not to understand: your air defense system, not just the assets individually, but the air defense system as a whole, was a meltdown. In the literal sense a meltdown. And our allies were showing us a three-finger combination in response to requests to upgrade them (they showed you a three-finger combination as well; otherwise by 2018 there would have been something else in place instead of a meltdown),” wrote Pashinyan. He blamed not only Serzh Sargsyan’s government, its appointment of military personnel, Armenia’s allies, but also those not connected to it, noting that the latter also pointed to two circumstances: 1. Armenia’s CSTO membership. 2. That the provided assets could be deployed in areas not under Armenia’s sovereign control. Under these conditions, according to Pashinyan, the government he led did everything possible. At the end of this post, Pashinyan again invited the three presidents of Armenia to a debate.
