And why didn’t Kocharyan mention Serzh Sargsyan and the force led by him? According to Mamikonian, the reason is that the RPA is not currently engaged in pre-election preparations. Such an issue is not on their agenda; there has been no discussion about it, because the RPA believes that a change of power must be achieved by the elections to be held by the summer of 2026. By the way, the third president Serzh Sargsyan said hours after Kocharyan’s briefing that they are involved in a different matter, wishing success to the forces that decided to participate in the elections. “When that time comes, in our opinion, we will make a decision,” Sargsyan had said. The task the Sargsyan-led RPA is pursuing is the process of expressing no confidence in Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
