Jake Shane is going from podcaster to television star. The 26-year-old influencer, who hosts the Therapuss with Jake Shane show, will now have an all-new 30-minute series based on his life, Variety reported on Wednesday, Nov. 5. In the upcoming Hulu series, the TikToker will portray himself alongside his best friends as they navigate the chaotic new world of online fame, the strain it puts on their friendships, and the tension their presence causes in their suburban neighborhood, according to the outlet. It will be developed by 20th TV. Shane expressed gratitude for the forthcoming project, posting a screenshot of Variety's article in an Instagram carousel. "A dream come true with the team of my dreams... thank you," Shane captioned the post. His second snap in the round-up was a group pic taken outdoors on a sunny day with members of his "dream team," including Hacks writer and High Potential consulting producer Genevieve Aniello. Alec Berg, known for his work on Barry and Silicon Valley, smiled in the image and will serve as an executive producer. Paul Briganti will direct and executive produce the untitled pilot, the outlet reported. Amy Solomon, a producing partner on the series, was also featured in the group shot. Solomon shared the photo to her Instagram Stories and wrote, "tfw [That Feeling When] the sweeties all unite for a massive slay/collab." Shane's close friend Sofia Richie Grainge also saluted the internet star by sharing the news to her Instagram stories, adding, "I'm so proud of you." Aniello posted an Instagram photo of her and Shane enjoying a celebratory meal and martinis. Her carousel ended with a screenshot of the pitch "[Untitled Jake Shane Project]" that dates back to June. In the intro, a character, seemingly Shane, begins with, "I will catch you up to speed on why/how I'm sitting here. Ever since I was a young boy in Washington Heights, New York, I have wanted to be famous." And Shane has most certainly made his mark. Guests featured on the Therapuss podcast include Kerry Washington, Hilary Duff, Benny Blanco, and of course, Richie Grainge. His show, which launched in January 2024, has since received the 2025 Webby Award for best comedy creator and Shane was named among Forbes' 2025 top creators. Last month, the influencer spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about his "Rose, Thorn and Bud" (best and worst) moments of being 25 as he turned 26. "My rose was that I shot my first movie with Lewis Pullman and Maya Hawke," he told PEOPLE in October about the upcoming Graham Parke-directed film, Wishful Thinking. "I felt so honored that they wanted me to do it, to begin with, and just the experience exceeded every expectation I had. I was so grateful to be there, it was just really, really, really special."
