According to Armenpress, the information was reported by the General Department of Disaster Management and Prevention. According to the department, the death toll from the typhoon increased by 15 in the last day, reaching 51; 14 people are still missing, and 164 have sustained various injuries. Heavy rains caused landslides and floods, resulting in the collapse or partial damage of more than 172,000 houses, and another 66,000 houses were flooded. The disaster has led to the death of about 2,200 head of large cattle and 519,000 poultry. About 89,000 hectares of agricultural crops have been submerged or damaged, and 50,000 hectares of forest have been affected. Vietnamese authorities estimate the material damage from the typhoon at 16 billion dong (more than 600 million dollars). The Vietnamese government is doing everything possible to minimize the disaster’s damage and to restore life in the flooded areas as quickly as possible.
