In a viral TikTok video, a dog owner reveals what her pup does every time he sees his favorite human going to bed early, and internet users can’t cope with it. The heartwarming clip, posted in October by @amariah.nishay, shows the pup wandering around the living room, glancing at his mom on the couch as he subtly moves toward the bedroom where his dad is. “Whenever my boyfriend goes to bed early and my dog tries not to hurt my feelings (he loves him more),” reads the overlay in the clip. “Go be with your dad, go. You have permission. Go!” you can hear the poster tell the pup, who keeps looking back at her before finally heading off. All dogs have a favorite human, and it isn’t always their main caregiver. But how do our canines pick their favorites? Most dogs tend to bond with the person who gives them the most attention and affection. They also tend to form stronger positive associations with people who’ve given them especially tasty snacks. If you think you’re not your pup’s number-one human, don’t worry—you can become it. The easiest way is to spend at least 30 minutes of focused, one-on-one time together each day. This does not include walks, outdoor time, or watching TV together. Dogs’ favorite bonding activities include playing fetch, tug, or Frisbee. They also enjoy agility sports and training. @amariah.nishay 2nd-tier dog mom… But I’m also behind on grading… #teachersoftiktok #dogmom #dinkwads #teacher ♬ 剧情诙谐幽默偷摸 Pondering – Lynne Publishing The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far racked up over 875,000 views and more than 179,000 likes on the platform. One user, Estee, commented: “Actually I think he wants you to both be in there. He’s conflicted because he wants to protect you too.” Rhyscrownshaw said: “So I’m just gonna go chill with dad? You gonna be OK down here? There’s food in the fridge.” Jupiter added: “My dog is the same way. I had her before I met my husband and now all she does is wait for him to get home. I lost my dog and my man.” Newsweek reached out to @amariah.nishay for comment via TikTok comments. We could not verify the details of the case.
