The 2025 World Weightlifting Championships ended with our athlete's victory in the superheavyweight division. In the town of Forde, Norway, Lalayan posted a total of 461 kg. The silver medal went to Gor Minasyan, representing Bahrain. In the snatch, Lalayan started at 206 kg and lifted it confidently. He succeeded in lifting 211 kg on his second attempt, earning the small gold medal. In the clean and jerk, the world and European champion lifted 245 kg on his first attempt, then 250 kg on his second. On his third attempt, Lalayan tried to set a world record, but could not lift 261 kg. The gold in this lift also went to our athlete. With a total of 461 kg, Lalayan was crowned a two-time world champion. In this weight class, the competition was between two Armenian lifters. The Armenian weightlifter Gor Minasyan, representing Bahrain, became world runner-up for the third time in his career.
