After an up-and-down 2024 season, New York Jets running back Breece Hall has delivered a promising start to the 2025 season. Speaking to reporters ahead of New York’s Week 6 clash against the Denver Broncos, Jets offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand spoke on Hall’s early success this year, crediting Hall’s vision and strong offensive line play. “He’s finding the holes and the O-line’s opening them,” said Engstrand. “I think he is doing a phenomenal job right now, finding where the grass is, where the open lanes are, and getting vertical. I think we are going to continue to try to put him in those situations. Breece is doing a really nice job, but the o-line and tight ends are doing a phenomenal job too.” Through five games this season, Hall has rushed for 351 yards on 66 attempts (5.3 yards per carry). He also has contributed 150 yards in the receiving game across 17 receptions, while committing a costly fumble in the first half of the Jets’ Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Hall is currently on pace to hit a career-high in yards from scrimmage (1,703) and rushing yards (1,193). Currently on the final year of his rookie deal, the former second-round pick is set to hit the open market at the end of this season. “I’m in my fourth year and I don’t have a lot of time left to prove what I want to do and who I can be in this league,” Hall said after Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys. If Hall continues to play at this rate throughout the remainder of the year, the Jets will be tasked with a tough offseason decision to make on the Iowa State product’s future in New York.
