The Ministry of Environment has issued a clarification regarding the organization of a gender-determination ceremony for a child in the area of Shaki Waterfall. Dear citizens, the Ministry of Environment has received numerous complaints from citizens regarding the organization of a gender-determination ceremony for a child in the Shaki Waterfall area. The Shaki Waterfall is a natural hydrological and geological monument and is under state protection. The mentioned activity violates Article 19, Sections 1 and 2, of the Republic of Armenia Law on Specially Protected Nature Monuments, which states: In Armenia, within the territory occupied by a nature monument, any activity that threatens its preservation is prohibited; The protection regime of a nature monument is defined by the passport prepared for each nature monument. Additionally, it also violates Order No. 68-N of March 21, 2018, of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, which prohibits any activity that disturbs the appearance of a nature monument. The alert has been forwarded to the Environmental Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body for appropriate action. The Ministry of Environment urges adherence to the established legal requirements for environmental protection and to refrain from any actions that could damage our country's natural heritage.
