News - Armenia deputy FM: Genocide prevention remains one of important issues

It was about priorities. But from another point of view, we are taking a number of steps, for example, in terms of preventing genocide. Armenian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Paruyr Hovhannisyan stated this while speaking with reporters at the National Assembly Tuesday. He noted the aforesaid in connection with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan’s recent statement that the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide was not among the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy. "In December, Armenia will host the global forum, which has a rather ambitious program. For us [i.e. the incumbent Armenian authorities], the issue of genocide prevention remains one of the important issues. Here, it was about being a priority or not," added Hovhannisyan.
