Armenia, Tunisia to lift visas for their diplomatic passport holders

by Lilit Sept. 4, 2024

Armenia and Tunisia will lift visas for their people with diplomatic passports. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Vahan Konstanyan, during the debates on the respective bill at Wednesday’s meeting of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly (NA). This matter will be put on the agenda of the next four-day session of the NA. "Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Tunisia were established back in 2002. Relations between Armenia and Tunisia have a great potential for development in the political sphere. This is due to the fact that Tunisia is a friendly state to Armenia in the North African region, as well as an important partner of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the International Organization of La Francophonie," Konstanyan said. From this point of view, as the deputy FM noted, the expansion of the legal contract sphere between these two countries in this domain is of great importance. "This will expand and deepen the political dialogue [of Armenia] with the Republic of Tunisia and intensify mutual visits at various levels," added the representative of the Armenian government. And after some discussions, this law initiative was approved by the aforementioned committee.
