News - Colombia bans coal exports to Israel over Gaza war

The Colombian government has banned its export of coal to Israel because of the ongoing war in Gaza. The respective decree signed by the President of Colombia and several ministers will enter into force within five days. "Colombian coal is used in order to make bombs that kill Palestinian children," Colombian President Gustavo Petro wrote on X. Colombia, which exports five percent of its total coal mined to Israel, had severed diplomatic ties with the Jewish state in May.
