News - EU Council approves €4.2bn allocation to Ukraine

The Council of the European Union has approved the decision agreed earlier by the EU ambassadors to allocate about €4.2bn in aid to Ukraine from the country's support fund. This was announced by the Hungarian presidency of the council on its X page. The post said that having completed the written procedure, the council decided on August 6 to make the first payment. The council also said that this decision supports Ukraine's macro-financial stability and the functioning of its public administration.
