News - Armenia economy minister to Syria envoy: All our efforts are aimed at having stable, developing country

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received Syria's ambassador to Armenia, Syrian Armenian Nora Arisian, the Ministry of Economy of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. At the beginning of the talk, the minister noted that Armenia and Syria are friendly countries and the political relations between the two countries are at a high level, and cooperation in economy has a great potential for development. "Armenia is on the path of economic diversification; in this context, we can further develop economic cooperation with joint forces. Basically, all our efforts are aimed at having a stable and developing country—and why not? A region," added the minister. The development of cooperation in economy, the strengthening of business ties, the implementation of investment programs, the intensification of mutual trade, the increase of the amount of trade, as well as the chances of holding international and specialized exhibitions and business forums between Armenia and Syria were discussed. The interlocutors reflected also on the prospects of cooperation in tourism. In addition, Papoyan spoke about the Crossroads of Peace initiative of the Armenian government, which will contribute to the creation of a new situation of peace and stability in the region for Armenia and neighboring countries.
