Forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh organized a protest in front of the UN office in Armenia on July 9, demanding the implementation of the 2021 and 2023 decisions of the International Court of Justice of the Organization. One of the participants of the protest, Armina Avakimyan, reminded that Azerbaijan is purposefully destroying Armenian traces in Nagorno-Karabakh. She demanded that the UN put pressure on Azerbaijan to keep the private property and spiritual and cultural heritage of the Karabakh Armenians intact until their return to Nagorno-Karabakh. Avakimyan believes that the Armenian authorities are passive in ensuring the return of the Karabakh Armenians. In her assessment, an attempt is being made to take the issue of the return of Nagorno-Karabakh and its residents off the agenda. "If we left our homeland based on considerations of physical security, it does not mean that we are adapting to the situation. Even in Azerbaijan they are surprised how the issue of the rights of the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh is taken off the agenda," the protester concluded.
