Iran's supreme leader addressed the country's newly elected president

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei congratulated President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed gratitude to all candidates and those who actively participate in the elections, IRNA reported.Khamenei emphasized the need for the president-elect to utilize the country's opportunities for the welfare of the people and progress of the country."I advise the president-elect to look forward to bright horizons with faith in God and in continuing the path of martyr Raisi for the sake of the country's progress," he added.Pezeshkian won more than 16.3 million votes in the run-off election, while his rival, conservative Saeed Jalili, won 13.5 million votes.
