Turkey’s Antalya airport delaying flights due to air traffic controllers' strike

by Lilit July 1, 2024

International flights from Antalya International Airport of Turkey are delayed due to the airport’s air traffic controllers' strike. Because of this strike, there are risks of a crisis in Turkey's tourism sector, according to Interfax. These air traffic controllers demand salary increase and improvement of their working conditions. They have slowed down operations, causing flight delays and cancellations, and this has led also to tourist dissatisfaction and considerable financial losses. Reduced capacity at Antalya International Airport increases aviation fuel costs. According to experts, these demands of air traffic controllers are standard, and ways must be found to meet these demands.
