This is a badass piece of material that an FX person may be able to identify
the specific type and use for huge pivoting mechanisms or something else that needs to turn or slip. Something that weighs more in the several thousand-pound category. It is a pure solid 6" plastic rod, around 24" long. I have two.
It was used on a big FX rig or device. It could be Nylon, Acetal, PTFE, UHMW, HDPE. It may be anywhere from $500-1,200 for a single piece, but that depends on its composition and the supplier.
