Job Opportunity: Home Health Care Payroll and Billing Coordinator
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Home Health Care Payroll and Billing Coordinator. This role is pivotal in managing the payroll processing, billing operations, and ensuring financial compliance within our agency. An ideal candidate would bring prior experience in the home health care sector, showcasing an ability to accurately and promptly handle payroll for our staff while effectively managing patient billing and reimbursement procedures.
The role demands a comprehensive understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and the regulations governing home health care billing.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
- Accurate payroll processing for all home health care staff, aligned with wage laws.
- Verification of timesheets, visit logs, and overtime, adhering to agency policies.
- Maintenance of detailed payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
- Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, focusing on overtime and paid leave policies.
- Addressing payroll discrepancies and resolving employee pay queries.
Billing & Reimbursement
- Preparation and submission of claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.
- Active monitoring of claim statuses, managing denials, and pursuing outstanding payments.
- Ensuring accurate coding and documentation in line with home health care regulations.
- Reconciliation of payments, transaction posting, and maintenance of precise billing records.
- Coordination with insurance entities and patients on billing issues and payment arrangements.
Compliance & Reporting
- Guarantee that payroll and billing processes comply with regulatory standards and industry norms.
- Upkeep of accurate documentation for audit and compliance review purposes.
- Generation of detailed reports on payroll, billing, and reimbursements for the management team.
- Keeping abreast of changes in home health care reimbursement policies and payroll regulations.
Collaboration & Support
- Close collaboration with HR, finance, and clinical teams to ensure payroll and billing precision.
- Conducting training for staff on payroll procedures, timesheet submissions, and billing documentation.
- Assistance in financial audits and regulatory surveys as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years in payroll and billing within home health care or a similar healthcare setting is required. A strong grasp of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing processes is essential.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in home health EMR/billing software (e.g., HCHB, Kinnser, WellSky, Axxess), along with strong Excel and accounting software capabilities.
Key Competencies: Detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, outstanding communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team in a dynamic environment.
Note: PREVIOUS HOME HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
