This project offers a cutting-edge renovation solution for owners of single-family houses with sloped roofs that are currently outfitted with soft shingles. The innovative renovation includes the installation of a supplementary roofing system made up of Metal Roof Panels and Convex Metal Tiles, which are mounted on a bespoke two-dimensional wooden framework constructed directly atop the existing soft shingle roof.
The core of our installation process involves the Metal Roof Panels and Convex Metal Tiles being mounted on a specially constructed two-dimensional wooden framework that is built over the existing shingle roof. This method negates the necessity for removing the old roofing, thereby reducing both the labor involved and the generation of waste.
The aim is to replace the current roof — typically unappealing, short-lived, and inadequately insulated — with a contemporary, long-lasting, and fire-resistant alternative that provides superior thermal insulation. This new system is engineered to exceed 45 years of service life.
The core idea of the proposed renovation is to maintain the original roof's structure while adding a separate, independent second roofing system. This system includes the following main elements:
1. Two-Dimensional Wooden Array
- Acts as an additional attic layer
- Boosts the mechanical strength of the entire house frame
- Functions as an air barrier, minimizing heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer
- Provides a solid foundation for mounting the metal roofing components
- Blocks the penetration of external temperatures into the primary attic
The base for the Metal Roof components installation consists of wooden panels measuring 1x3 inches, arranged on sturdy wood with specific intervals.
2. Metal Roofing Components
The metal roof system comprises two main types of elements:
U-Shaped Metal Panels
- Maximum length: 48 inches
Convex Metal Tiles
- Maximum length: 24 inches
The primary materials used for the Metal Roof elements include:
- 24-gauge Galvalume steel, coated with PVDF (45-year warranty), in flat sheets measuring 48 x 120 inches

Interesting concept, especially the idea of installing metal panels over the existing shingles to cut down on demo and mess. The materials and lifespan claims sound solid, but the ad felt a little thin on pricing, permits, and how ventilation/condensation is handled with that extra wood framework. Also worth noting the contact info says to speak Russian, which might be a barrier for some homeowners in LA. Overall, promising but I’d want more details before moving forward.
